Frankfurt airport - big. Not too cosy though. The nicest airport I've been to so far was Copenhagen's Kastrup. Frankfurt has these weird metal ceilings and big lamps which are used for illumination - the strange thing is that the lamps are pointed towards the ceiling, so not all the light is reflected - whoever thought that up? The ceilings give it a cold and unpleasant atmosphere. Terminal A is okay - at least they have a lot of places where you can sit down, which is not the case in Terminal B - very few sitting places - the usual thing is just to sit down on the floor... And for a nice view on the runways and all the Jumbo Jets, go to McDonald's in terminal B :)
Honestly, I had some stereotypes about Germany and thought it wouldn't be as exciting and fascinating as it was. North Rhine-Westphalia is really something! But we Lithuanians are spoiled by some things and that becomes obvious when going abroad. Shops are usually open until 20 in Germany. What?!!! In Lithuania they're working 'til 22 (usually) or even 24, heck, we even have one big supermarket in Vilnius' city centre which is open 24/7! As strange as it may seem, I've been told that people don't go shopping that late in Germany. Could be true. I was living in further away from the city centre and the streets were empty at 22! It was weird and felt as if it was already past midnight - again, judging by the way Lithuanian cities look at this hour.
Oh... Cologne, Bonn - wonderful cities, I miss them already. I'd prefer Bonn over Colongne though. The former capital is really nice - not very big, but that's what makes it special. And if you happen to be in Bonn - don't leave Königswinter and the nearby hills behind, you won't be sorry ;)
